During my parents' visit from India, my husband and I were determined to make their trip memorable. Choosing the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach in Dana Point, CA, for its stunning location, we had no idea that this hotel would become the highlight of our entire journey.

Approaching the hotel, one is immediately drawn to the Mediterranean-influenced architecture, cascading fountains, and regal elegance.
Upon entering the lobby, one is enveloped in a seamless blend of classical charm and contemporary sophistication. The beautiful chandeliers, curated artwork, and resplendent flooring create an ambiance of warmth and serenity.
The hotel accommodations are not only spacious but thoughtfully designed as well. Lavish marble bathrooms, plush bedding, and round-the-clock personalized service ensure a truly comfortable stay.
Though the water-facing rooms are desirable, they can be quite expensive. We opted for two adjoining rooms with balconies facing the lush green lawns, allowing us to admire the lovely view just steps away from our door.
The hotel's main café near the reception area opens early, offering a delightful selection of coffee and baked goods to enjoy on the expansive outdoor balcony adorned with fire pits and umbrellas. And I can assure you, the food tastes as good as it looks!
The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach is an oasis for wellness and leisure, featuring a world-class spa where expert therapists pamper guests with an array of treatments.
They have a special wellness area with pools for spa guests.
Additionally, the hotel offers rejuvenating activities such as yoga and sound baths, which we had the pleasure of trying and thoroughly enjoying.
For relaxation, the hotel boasts two heated leisure pools and jacuzzis with lots of lounge chairs, tables, umbrellas and cabanas with breathtaking ocean and golf course views, providing the perfect spot to unwind while sipping on refreshing cocktails.
While we decided not to golf on this particular trip, golf enthusiasts can indulge in the Monarch Beach Golf Links' 18-hole championship course, offering an unparalleled golfing experience amidst picturesque ocean vistas.
A notable perk we appreciated was the hotel shuttle, which conveniently transported guests to the ocean through tunnels and the golf course. This service was a huge plus, making it easier for everyone to explore the vast property.
The shuttle was really frequent and it was cool to ride on it down to the ocean, under the PCH and to the Monarch Bay Beach Club. And then, back up - again! We used this service multiple times during our stay.
