One really does have a hard time finding bottle gourd, I bought mine at an Indian store. You may find one at your local farmers market. The lentils are called Chana Dal and they are traditionally used with bottle gourd in this preparation.
The Indian bread called Rotis you see on this plate below are healthier than the Naan bread you see at Trader Joe's. You can find them at an Indian store in the fresh or frozen section.
